Fakri Al-Hubaishi Draws the Curtain on 18 Glorious Years

Mareb Al-ward  Shabab Ibb Club has announced preparations to host a testimonial and farewell event for former national team and club star Fakri Al-Hubaishi, in honor of his long and illustrious football career that spanned 18 years and cemented his place among Yemen's top scorers. In a previous interview, Al-Hubaishi confirmed his final decision to retire from football, stating: "Eighteen years with the only beloved I ever knew — I left her not by choice, but because of circumstances." Al-Hubaishi is considered one of the most prolific strikers in the history of Shabab Ibb and Yemeni football. He won the domestic league’s top scorer title twice (2003 and 2006), and in 2006, he earned the prestigious "Top Arab Scorer" title with 26 goals. Yemeni League: Golden Square Matches End of January

After days of waiting, the Yemeni Football Federation announced on Monday the scheduling of the semi-finals with a Home-Away system as well as the cities hosting the matches.


According to the Federation, Ahly Sana'a team leading Group I will play against Shaab HadramawtTeam second Group II in the first leg on January 27 at Paradem Stadium in Mukalla, the capital of Hadramawt governorate.


The following day, the second match between the second group champion Wehda Sana'a will be held against the second group Tadamun Hadramawt team at the same stadium in Mukalla.


The return matches between the four teams will take place on February 4 and 5 in the capital Sana'a.


The competition was limited to the Golden Square between two provincial teams, Sana'a and Hadramaut.


The FA has determined the manner in which the fixtures will be decided if the draw is finished in the original and additional times of resorting to penalties.


The third and fourth place play-off will take place in Sana 'a on 8 February and two days later the final match will determine the champions of the league.
