The Yemeni team was crowned the 10th West Asian Junior Federation Championship hosted by the Oman Federation at the Stadium of the Happiness Complex in Salalah.
Yemen's newbies were able to be crowned the first-place trophy by outscoring their Saudi counterparts by 3-2, with weighing kicks after the original time of the final held Wednesday, 20 December 2023, in a 1-1 draw.
The Yemeni team was the race by scoring through Abdul Rahman Al-Khader, but the Saudi national team Adel Al-Cuf through Mishaal Al-Daoud to hold both sides to penalties that were the responsibility of the Yemeni players.
It was the second title for Yemen at the level of the West Asian Junior Federation Championships after winning the eighth edition title held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in late 2021, at which time it also outperformed the previous hospitality owner and was crowned the seventh edition in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2019.
