Ittihad Ibb on difficult mission against Ahli Sana'a

By Mareb Al-ward

Al Ahli and Ittihad teams

Ahli Sana 'a team plays with its Ittihad Ibb counterpart on Friday afternoon at the Olympic Stadium in Seyoun, Hadramawt governorate in penultimate round of the Yemen Football League return stage

Al Ahli, nicknamed the "Emperor", leads Group I by 19 points and is the first team to qualify for the Golden Square since the third round, while the Al Ittihad, also known as the "Eagles", is in third place with 11 points equal to the coastal crescent but is outscored by goal difference.

Al Ahli played eight games, won in six of them and drew one time, losing like it, scoring 14 goals and conceding two goals to be the strongest in attack and defence.

Similarly, Ittihad played eight games, winning three, losing like it, drawing two, scoring six goals and conceding the same.

On the basis of the above, the match is not of great importance to the Al Ahli after qualifying for the semi-final and singling out them for the lead, but that does not mean that they will not look for a win, because the team wants to confirm its worth, show the character of the potential champion and record positive numbers, and therefore remains the most prominent candidate to win.

On the contrary, the Ittihad seeks to hijack match points at all costs to enhance its chances of qualifying for the Golden Square despite the strength of the opposition, which won it a single goal, and the heated competition for the second qualifying position in which Tdamn Hadramawt is currently stationed by 15 points.

The game is likely to be offensive in nature from the outset, as the Ittihad will try to score an early goal that gives it preference while balancing in collective defence to avoid conceding goals.

For the Ahli, he may play more comfortably and may be able to control the match from the elements of his strength and determination of his qualification.

Even beyond the current data, Al-Ahli has the advantage of winning in the history of previous league meetings, with 10 wins in which it scored 36 goals, while the Ittihad won four games and scored 21 goals, with a draw between them on four occasions.
